CONTEXT
As a multimedia news editor for The Corsair, Santa Monica College's student newspaper, I oversaw the production of video content, guided a team of student journalists, and broke news stories.
MY ROLE
I played a pivotal role in shaping the editorial direction of the newspaper, mentoring new video editors, and directly contributing to breaking news coverage.
CHALLENGE
The challenge was to balance the demands of breaking news coverage, mentorship, and creative content production while maintaining high journalistic standards and engaging the audience.
SOLUTION
I honed my skills in video editing, motion graphics, and sound design. I also developed a strong understanding of sports, enabling me to identify compelling stories and angles. By combining these skills, I produced highlight reels that captured the excitement and intensity of college athletics.
